Depending on the sugar content of the fruit, they may become darker when dried. I try to get them as light as possible but I also have to deliver a fully dried fruit and the sugar can darken them. Each piece is carefully sliced by hand. I put a lot of love into my dope.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS USED IN PREPARING MY DOPE

Dehydrators are broken down and thoughtfully cleaned with organic cleaners before use. Then I run the dehydrator until hot and dry, to provide a second sterilization. All knives and cutting boards are sterilized before every use.

I only dry and cut fresh fruit and was before use, which includes inspecting and discarding any fruits that are not fresh. These fruits are then carefully sliced and never left unattended before going into a sterile dehydrator.

Each and every piece is checked multiple times to ensure that the product is completely DRY.

All dried fruit is never left unattended and immediately bagged.
