How many plastic bottles are recycled into every shirt?

While 50% of every shirt is made out of recycled plastic, the number of bottles in a specific shirt varies depends on the size and type of shirt. Most full sized t-shirts are made with 6-7 bottles in each shirt! Smaller shirts, like the ladies crop top, recycles about 4 bottles. Every shirt is unique! Since plastic bottles come in many different colors, it is natural for color variations to occur on the shirt. These are not defects, they result from the an environmentally friendly process to make the shirt.

What is Organic Cotton?

We use a Made-in-USA supplier that blends the rPET with Organic Cotton. Organic Cotton is certified as grown using non-genetically modified plants, which helps sustainability and biodiversity. It is grown without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers or pesticides (except as allowed by the certified organic restrictions).

Are the shirts fabricated in the United States?

YES! The blank shirts are made by a reputable manufacturer in New York and hand finished by The Honu Shirt Company in California, using transfer art which is screen printed in Virginia. The Honu Shirt Company, LLC is a minority-owned, family-run, small business. Thank you for your support!

Do you donate your profits to ocean life conservation charities?

YES! We annually donate a significant portion of our net profits to a 501(c)(3) organization. The Honu Shirt Company, LLC is an official partner with the Hawai’i Wildlife Fund. The Hawai’i Wildlife Fund (HWF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of Hawaii's native wildlife through research, education and advocacy. https://www.wildhawaii.org/ We contribute to HWF in three different ways: 1) A minimum of 10% of every green or blue t-shirt sale is donated immediately to the Hawai’i Wildlife Fund. 2) The Honu Shirt Company, LLC will also donate a significant portion of ALL net profits annually to Hawai’i Wildlife Fund.

Do you warranty your items?

Our standard warranty for materials and workmanship is 30 days. Subjecting items to misuse - such as exposure to harsh chemicals or physical damage - void the warranty.

Blanca was so thoughtful in communicating with me. Also, the leggings came carefully packaged with the aloha spirit. I love my leggings made in the USA. I am 125 pounds, 5’ 4” tall, and they fit me nice. As I slim down they will fit even better. :) They are comfortable and well made. I will definitely return to purchase more from this shop. Well made, sizing runs small and no returns so I would recommend you order up. Very nice product, I just ordered my regular Old Navy/Gap size for leggings and it was about a size too small. They support the sea turtles which is fabulous!!
