Do you love how Stacker Beads look and want to learn how to make your own? This tutorial covers the steps to make the intricate flat-edged Stackers (first and second photos), and the rounded striped ones (third and fourth photos). These fun, easy beads are a blast to make and require only a sharp clay blade, your hands and a piercing tool. This tutorial is written in English so international buyers will have to have it translated if needed. The text was updated in November 2020.
Stacker beads are a design that I have been making for over 20 years. They have been published in PolymerCAFE Magazine (2003) and several terrific global polymer clay-related websites (like Polymer Clay Daily) and other jewelry blogs. The tutorial has well-written tips and tricks with corresponding photos for each step. Experience with polymer clay helps but is not necessary. Good manual dexterity in both hands is. As with anything, practice makes perfect! ... so if you're a newbie to polymer clay, you can make these....just make sure you enjoy the journey as you develop your bead-rolling skills!! You may discover some interesting variations on your own and turn them into something more fabulous!
*** IMPORTANT: If there are any steps that seem confusing or unclear, PLEASE contact me before leaving any feedback. I am quick to answer correspondence. If you need in-depth explanation of a step, more photographs or even a short video to help make these beads easier to conceptualize, I can provide that in short order. Please do not leave critical feedback until you have allowed me to help. People learn in different ways, and I don't know what is best for every single customer. But I can work with you on it!
All text and photos are mine...I wrote it, I took the pictures. Redistribution or resale of this tutorial is prohibited, but you can sell jewelry made with the beads. Please give credit where credit is due...If you make Stacker beads and sell them online, please post a link to my shop. If you make your own Stacker beads and send me a photo of yours, I will feature them on my Facebook page.
