I Want to Buy Recycled, But How Will I Know I Have Enough?

Compare the WPI to the length of yarn in a cake to get an idea of how much yarn you need. Typically 2-3 wraps=a stitch. So if it is 18 WPI = 6-9 stitches per inch depending on needle size and tension.

Treat your protein based fibres like you would your hair! Wash them in a nice shampoo or gentle detergent and don’t agitate too much- otherwise you’ll end up with damaged fibers!

100% Wool yarn from a damaged cardigan/coat. There's a lot of this yarn for this listing. Not soft like merino wool or cashmere, but has that nostalgic itchy comfort for those wool purists out there.

I source my yarn from discarded clothing, preventing a few more garments taking space in landfills!

I wash my yarn in an antiseptic fabric soap and then a cedar wool wash. They air dry and then I measure the yarn using my swift, counting the rotations.

I don’t put knots in my yarn, if I find them, I tend to cut them and change the join to a wet splice. I occasionally make notes on the tags when I can keep up with the joins, and discount accordingly.

The yarn comes from a smoke free home, I do have cats however.
