Thomas Cole (February 1, 1801 – February 11, 1848) was an Anglo-American painter known for his landscape and history paintings. One of the major 19th-century American painters, he is regarded as the founder of the Hudson River School, an American art movement that flourished in the mid-19th century. Cole's work is known for its romantic portrayal of the American wilderness

Cole was primarily a painter of landscapes, but he also painted allegorical works. The most famous of these are the five-part series, The Course of Empire, which depict the same landscape over generations—from a near state of nature to consummation of empire, and then decline and desolation—now in the collection of the New-York Historical Society

Excellent quality prints and even more excellent customar service! I ordered archival matte prints of Thomas Cole’s “Course of Empires” and they came quickly and in beautiful quality. The package was actually missing on of the five, but I messaged the shop and they quickly took care of that and sent out the missing print. They were extremely helpful and I will be ordering from them again
