Wood can be a bit unpredictable and contain beautiful grains, knots, and dark spots. These are sometimes unavoidable. This may cause flare-ups from our laser and cause a "back flash" There will be a yellow/ smoke mark on either the front or back of the wooden piece. We try to avoid and/or clean this when we can.

Wood can also cause uneven engraving when grains in the wood are darker/lighter. Again, we do try to avoid this, but it is the natural characteristic of wood.
