Very well preserved original 1964 cast recording of "My Fair Lady," the musical adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion." The movie starred Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle, and Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins. The stage play won 6 Tonys in 1957, and the film adaptation won 8 Academy Awards, among many other accolades.
From Wikipedia: "The film stars Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle and Rex Harrison as Henry Higgins, with Stanley Holloway, Gladys Cooper and Wilfrid Hyde-White in supporting roles. A critical and commercial success, it became the second highest-grossing film of 1964 and won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director.[4] In 1998, the American Film Institute named it the 91st greatest American film of all time. In 2006 it was ranked eighth in the AFI's Greatest Movie Musicals list.
In 2018, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
Description: Outside cover is in Very Good to Excellent condition. A few issues to note: A slight discoloration on the inside left side cover, upper left hand (Picture 3 - zoom), minor folds or crinkling visible (Picture 6), and a slit at the bottom of the inside slip cover (Picture 5).
The record itself is in Excellent condition, with no scratching or writing on record or covers. Columbia Masterworks Edition.
