Such a rare piece - ideal for collectors of Public House, Victorian glass and/or Johnnie Walker Whisky ephemera.

The hand blown carafe dates to the Victorian era circa 1860 - cannot confirm if the etched design goes as far back as the glass. It never had a stopper, so is a complete piece.

The etched design features 5 Johnnie Walkers side by side, with "BORN 1820 STILL GOING STRONG' as well as the public house reading "JOLLY SAILOR, LITTLE BILLET, W GIBB, CABLE ST" - I have looked this up and there was a pub of this name, but is now closed.

The broad bottle shape has a slice-cut neck. There are no chips or nicks and the glass has a grey tone to it - a lot of the very old glass had this. The base is smooth with signs of wear.

Overall the carafe/decanter shows signs of wear commensurate with age. The glass itself has light scratches here and there.

Height is 8 1/4 inches
Diameter of base is 4 inches
