Aged or New replica WW1 (World War One) German Braunschweig (Brunswick) Totenkopf cap badge, worn on the front of the hat usually a Einheitsmütze but also on other caps.

Etsy Trust & Safety - this is a WW1 Skull and nothing to do with WW2 Banned German Organisations skull.

In 1912, the Braunschweig pattern Totenkopf was awarded to the Braunschweigisches Infanterie-Regt. Nr.92. Prior to this it was also worn by Braunschweigisches Husaren-Regt. Nr.17 (Brunswick Hussar Regiment 17 - Cavalry Regiment). The Braunschweig pattern Totenkopf came in two different patterns: a flat issued pattern and a three dimensional private purchase pattern. There were several numerous versions of the flat badge and numerous versions of the private purchase badge. The badge we are offering is an early version of the private purchase Brunswick badge. It is made of heavy metal and finished in silver wash coating. It is copied from an original and is of museum quality, with two attachment pins just like the originals. This is the 'oval eye' version, as mentioned earlier, there were several similar versions.

This badge is the closest you are going to get to an original. notice the two prongs, these are bent backwards to attach the badge to the cap. If you are a reenactor or collector this is the badge to get. Approximately 30mm tall and 30mm wide. Choice of New or Aged.
