"Alpine Summer” is a recent linocut inspired by the unique flowers that proliferate in alpine areas during the Tasmanian Summer. Australia's southernmost state has a wealth of natural wilderness, and my current fascination is for the alpine regions and the vegetation that grows there. I love the extraordinary range of textures, shapes and colours that seem almost to be intentionally harmoniously ‘planted’. I enjoy playing with the compositional aspects of the placement of the plants, and the rich colouring, translating these into a linocut that seeks to convey the unique sense of place.

This linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being a small edition of 25. I print using oil-based printing ink on Stonehenge printmakers paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.

This large linocut will be shipped in a mailing tube to keep it safe during transit.
