There aren't any lips on the edges. This is simply a tray that sits on top of your pets crate, but don't worry it's still pretty sturdy so you don't have to worry about it moving.💁🏻♀️
***Due to the nature of wood some knots, holes, gouges and other small imperfections may be in the wood. Since this makes every piece unique these imperfections will not be changed. Because our toppers are crafted from solid real wood there will be variation in color, and grain pattern. Products in the images have been crafted from the same species of wood and stain with the exact same stain color as the product you will receive however because wood is a natural product no two pieces are the same depending on an individual piece of wood and grain pattern the stain may take more or less resulting in the color variation. While every effort has been made to supply you with the most accurate photographic representation you should expect variation in your product. These toppers are meant to have that rustic Farmhouse look so if that's not your style these toppers may not be what you're looking for.
Since stain and polyurethane are used on these, the toppers may have that 'stain' smell, please allow it dry outside for a day before placing on dog crate.
Each topper is sanded with 320 grit sandpaper however there will be some rough spots in some wood.
