This is a handcrafted leather Raven mask, midnight black with an attitude. Ravens are tricksters, so don't be surprised if you get the urge to pull a few pranks when you wear it! Uncanny with a hooded cape.

General Mask Info:
I create my masks personally, and by hand, from the beginning to the end. I begin with an idea; a character or creature that intrigues me. I am often inspired by old stories and myths, as well as science fiction and fantasy themes.
After working up the idea on paper, I cut it out of simple veg-tanned leather. Next, I use water and heat to sculpt the leather shape into three dimensions. I airbrush, hand paint, or rub with leather dyes, depending on the design, and seal it with a clear, flexible acrylic top coat for durability and moisture resistance. (However, the masks are not waterproof, and shouldn't be worn in heavy rain.)
I generally add felt lining at the bridge of the nose and along the brow for comfort, and sometimes pad pressure points. The double strand of black elastic is secured by grommets set into the leather. It can be adjusted if necessary, and has ends finished with coordinated beads, usually glass. I also sign and number each mask on the inside.

I totally love it! The first thing I did was open the box and try it on! It fits perfectly and it's very comfortable to wear and it looks fabulous! I got this for my Halloween costume but I probably will wear it as much as I can get away with LOL. I am very pleased with this product and I love that it's handmade! I selected this artist because they live in St. Charles, Illinois! I know exactly where that is 💜 That's one thing I love about Etsy, you can support a real artist in a real City!
