This technique works well because standard size differences between ages increase gradually—typically about 1 inch (2.5 cm) for smaller sizes and more for larger sizes. By adjusting your hook size, you can achieve a proportional difference throughout the garment. Keep in mind that individual tension varies, which may affect the final size.
