Design Sizes and Stencil Sizes are in the ‘Description’ section of each Listing Yes, we can make most Stencils in alternate sizes. Remember some Stencils (with small parts) may not be suitable to cut too small. The largest we can cut is W – 60cm L – 95cms (23.5” x 37”)

Yes, we do make Stencils to your design. We will however not cut someone else’s copyright Design.

All our Stencils are cut from ‘Mylar’ This is a flexible, plastic material that can be re-used again and again. The thickness we use is 175 Micron / um This is equivalent to .175mm

Your Stencil can be (carefully!) washed in warm soapy water if required. Remember to be extra careful when wiping the stencil to avoid snagging any of the edges. Any adhesive can be removed with a little Isopropyl Alcohol. Oil based paint should be (gently) wiped off the Stencil straight away to avoid it drying on the plastic. If you need to use a spirit to remove Oil based paints, wash in warm soapy water afterwards.

For best results use a foam Roller, dense Sponge or Stencil brush or Spray Can/Airbrush. Using too much paint can cause ‘bleeding’ under the Stencil. Apply a small amount of paint to your sponge or brush, then wipe off the excess on a piece of scrap paper before applying to your Stencil. It is best to build up light layers rather than trying to saturate the pattern in one pass. Use either small circular motions or dotting with your brush or sponge. Alternately you can just trace the design outline for free painting. For ease of use, the edges can be taped down to prevent movement, or for added protection, use a re-positional adhesive on the back of the Stencil before using. This also helps prevent bleeding.

What type of Paint or Pens can I use?

All types of Paint can be used with our Stencils. Water based, Oil based, Wall Paint, Exterior Paint, Spray Paint, Airbrush etc ‘Texta’ / Felt Pens / Marker Pens / ‘Sharpies’ can be used and are suitable for most of our Stencils. They are easy to use and give a clean result. Template Stencils are best used with a chalk or fabric Pencil to provide removable outline. For more permanent marking, a Felt Tip Marker or Texta Pen can be used.

Our Stencils can be used on any flat or curved surface. They are not suitable for uneven or heavily Textured surfaces.

Paper (Embellish gift cards, scrapbook pages, stationery or even wrapping paper) Fabric (Make your own cushion covers!) Wood (Pyrography or paint your own Signs) Tiles or Floors (create a whole new look to those tired Tiles) Glass (Glass paint or etching) Furniture Walls Cakes (Icing Sugar, Cocoa or Edible paint & powders…but not after you have used it for painting) Paintings (Create your own works of Art or use on an exisiting painting, this looks especially good on acrylic pour paintings!)
