Highlights
Simple yet elegant Sea Glass Bead Necklace.
The beads are handmade in the Krobo region of Ghana. The colour and size are not exact which adds to their rustic appeal. They have a wonderful translucent colour and are commonly referred to as seaglass beads.
Necklaces are dispatched with a small hessian gift bag. 100% plastic free tape & packaging.
The traditional method of making powdered glass trading beads has been passed down through generations. Today thanks to local ingenuity the traditional methods have been adapted by compressing recycled glass. They have become very popular, testament that nothing is wasted in Africa. The grainy powder is poured into clay mould which is baked in a furnace with the stem of a cassava leaf used to create the hole.
