ABSOLUTELY!!! Many coins have been passed down from generation to generation. What a way to honor the keepsake and pass it down as a RING!! I'll subtract the agreed value of the coin from the ring price. You will be responsible for shipping costs to and from.

How do I prevent discoloration?

Different metals affect different body chemistries, differently. Silver and gold will not cause discoloration. Unsealed copper, nickel, brass, and bronze may. Freedom Rings has perfected a technique to prevent discoloration!!! All rings are sealed with an industrial clear coating/curing process for durability and protection of details and from skin discoloration. This process was perfected and is used exclusively by "FREEDOM RINGS". In the event of discoloration, I will recoat for free. You will be responsible for shipping costs to and from.

How long will it take to get my ring?

All shipping is done via USPS first class. 1-2 weeks,usually sooner, continental US. 3-4 weeks, usually sooner, outside continental US. International orders will depend on how long it takes to get through customs. I will make every effort to get your order shipped to you in an expedited manner!

Why does my coin ring fit different than a regular ring?

There are two specific reasons for this. One being the composition of most coins, not all, is such that the coin itself is thinner towards the middle and thicker towards the outside. Two being during the ring forging process, the center of the coin sees the most stretching causing it to become thinner than the outside edge. For the sake of symmetry, the outer edge of the coin ring will always be thicker than the inner edge. Therefore the inside diameter of the outside edge of the ring, will always be more narrow. Coin Rings, in most cases, are worn with the reeded or ribbed edge out, and the smooth edge in. Your ring is sized at the smallest point of the inside, which will almost always be the outer edge of the coin.

Is it legal to make jewelry out of government minted coins?

Yes, it is legal to make, sell, and possess coin ring jewelry! It is illegal to deface US currency if the intent is to continue to use it as legal tender after it has been altered.The purpose of the law is to prevent counterfeiting and fraud and does not apply to objects made out of currency whether for sale or not. If it were illegal to squash pennies, the souvenier machines that you find at various landmarks, museums and amusement parks would be banned. Section 331 of Title 18 This statute states that one may be violating the law if the appearance of the coin is changed and represented to be other than the altered coin that it is with the intent of fraud. There are no sanctions against such activity unless the intent is to be fraudulent.
