Many times the size labels on vintage garments are illegible; have been lost over time or simply, never existed. But I always measure garments flat on the table and include these measurements below the description of the item.

All vertical measurements, like a garment's overall length are true as listed; while all horizontal measurements such as, a garment's sweep (the measurement across its hem) must be doubled to know the actual circumference.
