Hand cut, shaped and polished, then individually hand painted on vintage wood, these asymmetrical statement earrings are little pieces of wearable art. The geometric design in green, gold, white and blue with a touch of bright red, was inspired by a really beautiful 1929 Vogue cover print that I have hanging in my studio, the colours and feel of it just inspired me the moment I saw it.

It’s easy to feel good about wearing jewellery made from recycled wood. Smaller pieces of this amazing material are so often discarded. All of the beautiful woods in my workshop were rescued from waste of one kind or another, many from my past life as a furniture maker.
Cutting, shaping and painting each pair by hand brings a special quality to the shape and feel of the earrings, and allows me to produce very little waste in the making process.
This lovely wood is Afrormosia, it was used often in the Mid 20th century - just think of it as Teak's classier, even more beautiful sister. These dark woods became quite unfashionable for a while, I rescued parts of a dismantled built in book case from a home where a refit was taking place. Beneath the old varnish I found this buried treasure! Now listed as endangered, I would never buy this wood new, but enjoy celebrating its beauty by making it into jewellery for you to wear.
All my jewellery is made to a high standard, and will happily deal with a drop of rain, but please don't wear it in the shower - wood and water are not the best of friends! Also do your best to keep it away from perfumes and cosmetics.
These earrings are hand made to order, so dispatch times are a little longer. If you need them in a hurry please do get in touch and I will see what I can do!
