Are your matte balloons really matte?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: No balloon is truly matte, as all balloons will have a sheen to them. What you are looking at and looking for is an oxidized balloon. You can achieve this look with almost any quality latex balloon. The easiest way is to inflate the balloons 3 to 4 days prior to the event and place them in a well-ventilated, bright room (sunlight works fastest, but don't put them outside, or you risk damaging the product). You can also oxidize quickly if you assemble the garland and place it outside in sunlight (not heat). Please see the FAQ on how to use a garland outside.

Will my balloons pop in the heat?

YES - but keep reading! Air expands in the heat, which causes the balloon to overinflate and pop. There are ways to get around this. 1st - inflate each balloon to 100%, then fully deflate (seems silly, but trust me) then reinflate the balloon to 80% and tie it to seal. 2nd - Try not to place them in direct sunlight in the highest heat of the day - especially in the hotter months. 3rd - Add extra balloons to your garland to help maintain the full look when a few of them pop. 4th - Be okay with a few of them popping. They are balloons, sometimes they're overinflated, it is okay. Your party is still beautiful and perfect. Last - ONLY USE QUALITY BALLOONS!! This will help you to experience less popping in high-heat situations.

What kind of balloons do you use?

We ONLY use professional-grade, high-quality balloons. There is a huge difference in texture, quality, color, and longevity between our balloons and those you would get at a local retail chain. All of our balloon garlands will last 2 weeks or longer (I've had some look great 2 months later..) Our favorite brands are Tuftex, Balloonia, Kalisan, Betallatex, and Qualatex.

Are Love and Whimsy latex balloons biodegradable?

YES, YES, and YES!! We go the extra mile and spend the extra money to make sure you receive the best of the best balloons when it comes to our ecosystems. All of our latex brands adhere to the US and EU biodegradability standards, and more. In the same way that the wood from a tree will rot, a latex balloon is made from the sap of the tree and will disintegrate in the same way. Recent biodegradability tests have confirmed that natural rubber balloons biodegrade to approximately 90% within 2 years, under test conditions.

What is the white powder on my balloons?

Fresh-from-the-factory balloons often have a thin layer of talc powder inside and out to keep them from sticking to themselves or others during shipment.

Why did few of my balloons arrived with nibs, holes, or anomalies

We attempt to touch every balloon and pull any that come to us damaged so they don't get passed along to you. That said, sometimes we miss them too - and one or two may end up in your kit. It's okay! Know that we always put extra balloons in each kit to accommodate for issues like this or potential pops on your end.

How do I get my balloons super shiny?

Purchase a small bottle of Mega Shine spray from Amazon. Be careful to not use it in high heat on dark balloons.
