"Clouds Hill, Dorset"

This is a greeting card reproduced from my original cut paper collage depicting the tiny cottage that was the sanctuary of TE Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia. Disillusioned and depressed after his wartime exploits which had made him a celebrity, Lawrence sought anonymity in the ranks and in 1925 purchased Clouds Hill, using it as a haven for books, music and friendship.

My collages are created using paper snippings cut mostly from old magazines, no paint! (Although in this case the cottage wall is made with "bricks" cut from a reproduction of Lawrence's desert journeys).

This is a professionally printed card in my ongoing Writers Houses series. It measures 17.5x12.5 cms/7x5 inches and is blank inside for your message.
The decorative reverse carries an interesting explanatory text.
It comes with a recycled brown kraft envelope.
