WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR A PIECE TO BE RETIRED?

When Wee Forest Folk retires a piece, it means it will never be produced again at their factory. The manufacturer produces each piece until they decide there have been enough made and then end its production so they have room for new pieces and preserve the value of the retired piece. Any pieces still for sale are part of the initial run. If you own this piece, it becomes one of the only of these ever made.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "LIMITED" AND "RETIRED?"

When Wee Forest Folk creates a limited piece, they set a limit at which they will stop production, this number is lower than what they will usually produce before they retire a piece.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY WEE FOREST FOLK PIECES?

Use a soft dry cloth along with a slightly damp q-tip to clean the nooks and crannies, especially the eyes.

HOW DO I DISPLAY MY WEE FOREST FOLK PIECES?

Collectors are very creative in how they display their Wee Forest Folk figurines. Whether you create a miniature village with your Wee Forest Folk, or display them individually, the best way is to display them behind glass to keep them safe and dust free. A curio cabinet is a nice place to start if you plan on collecting a large number of figurines. If you have one special little mouse to display on a dresser or bedside table, we recommend a small glass dome cloche.

WHAT DOES "NEW VINTAGE" MEAN?

Any Wee Forest Folk pieces listed in our shop as "new vintage" have never been previously owned. Although they were produced at the mouse factory 20 or more years ago, they are brand new. How do we know? We obtained them directly from the Wee Forest Folk factory ourselves.

ARE THE IMAGES OF THE EXACT PIECES AVAILABLE FOR SALE, OR ARE THEY STOCK PHOTOS?

We try to provide each piece with its own photo session. The images included in each listing are usually of the exact piece available for sale. Since each piece is hand painted, there are minor differences in facial expression, etc. from one piece to the next. Therefore, we want you to fall in love with the specific piece you are buying. However, if things get busy and there is no substantial difference between a piece we just obtained and a previous piece already photographed, we will use the previous images taken until we have time to update the photos. We're happy to send additional images upon request.

ARE WEE FOREST FOLK FIGURINES A GOOD INVESTMENT?

Generally speaking, we are of the opinion collecting these little mice should not be about investing. While there is a secondary market for these figurines today, it is not guaranteed and almost always at a fraction of the amount paid. The value of your collection is emotional; not monetary. Enjoy the excitement of the hunt, the happiness from adding a new find to the collection, the experience of creating a miniature village or other display for your mice, and the joy of sharing your collection with your children, grandchildren, friends and fellow collectors. In other words, enjoy your collection, enjoy the process of collecting, and expect nothing in return.
