Downsizing my collection.....
Parting herewith from my favourite item: a chunky bright green BAKELITE ribbon clamper bangle from the 1940's with its matching brooch.
Very dramatic in design, it has a 3-dimensional carved and folded ribbon design forming a bow which is cinched at the center with a shiny gilded brass element.
Perfect condition; I see no defects at all.
You can see the size from the photos. A ruler is placed below the two items.
The hinge on the bangle is tight and snaps back well. The pinback finding on the brooch is embedded in the green bakelite and is fully functional.
Clampers are so wonderful because you don't have to force them over your hand; they open via the hinge and slip neatly onto your wrist.
A piece of history could be yours!! These are so hard to find now - they're all in museums and/or collections!!
