Ashwagandha / Withania Somnifera / Indian Ginseng SEEDS
You will receive approximately 50 Seeds from our Ashwagandha growing in sunny Florida. Home grown naturally using regenerative methods with lots of love and zero chemicals. The seeds are from our most recent harvest and are fresh viable seeds ready to sow.

Growing Info & Tips
A wonderful Ayurvedic herb, Ashwagandha is an evergreen woody shrub in the tropics and hot desert areas, and acts like an herbaceous perennial in temperate Zone 8 & warmer. For areas cooler than Zone 8, Ashwagandha is best grown as a summer annual. It prefers full sun and well-drained soils. It can grow up to 2-3ft in optimum conditions and has beautiful green leaves, bell-shaped flowers, and small red berries. It takes at least 6 months of growth before the root is ready to harvest and you can tell so when the berry’s exterior shell turns brown & and the leaves begin to dry out.

For Sowing the Seeds:
Seeds need the temperature to be above 70 degrees to germinate. Sow the seeds in pre-moistened potting mix in a small pot or in seed starting trays. Barely cover the seeds, as they need light to germinate. Keep soil moist but well drained. Seeds can take 4 weeks to germinate so be patient. Pot up into successively larger pots & put in the ground at approx 2 feet apart.

Uses & Preparation
When ready to harvest I dig up the roots, cut them into smaller pieces and leave them to dry. It has a very nice earthy smell! I keep some of these dried pieces to use to make tea and then blend some into a powder to use. I like to add about 1/4th -1/2 a teaspoon of the powder into an afternoon smoothie. Please do your own research before consuming. Also, it’s a nice treat for your face/ skin care routine! Just mix a little of the Ashwagandha powder and water to make a paste and leave in on your skin for a bit. You’ll be glowing afterwards.

Please Note: All of my seeds are fresh and viable. Growing from seed is fun! The majority of the time it is a success but sometimes it’s not. This just is the way it is with nature and gardening. I hope you experience success with all the seeds, however I cannot be responsible for germination failure due to improper sowing or climate conditions etc.
