Zeus (according to Greek mythology "bright sky") is the supreme deity, the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. Almighty Father of the Gods, Lord of winds and clouds, rain, thunder, and lightning. The blow of the scepter caused storms and hurricanes, but could also calm the forces of nature and clear the sky of clouds.
Zeus, the father of gods and people, immortals and mortals, reigns over the whole world and Olympus. He is the strongest of the gods. With which his servants are inseparable - Power, Strength, and Victory. None of the gods can match his power.
Zeus is just, he establishes laws and orders the life of mortals. Zeus put a striving for goodness and conscience in the souls of people, he punishes and pardons, helps those who are suffering and cry to him for help, patronizes the family, and keeps traditions. Zeus was called the father of gods and people, represented by fiery energy, dissolved in the entire surrounding world. Owning the sky, he controls earthly life.
For power, Zeus fought with his relatives titans for 10 years. After defeating the titans, Zeus began to own heaven and earth, that is, to rule the whole world. His brother Poseidon took possession of the entire water element - the oceans and seas, and Hades became the ruler of the underworld.
Zeus was famous as an almighty ruler, under whom the life of gods and people flourished. Arts and crafts, agriculture developed. Zeus himself made sure that the rulers of the cities ruled reasonably and justly.
Zeus lived on Olympus with his wife Hera and their children. Hera, according to mythology, was the third wife of Zeus.
His first wife was a cousin and educator who took care of him in Crete - Metis, the goddess of wisdom. Metis helped Zeus defeat his father Kronos, it was she who brewed the potion, thanks to which Kronos erupted from the womb of the swallowed children.
The second wife of Zeus is Themis, the goddess of justice. She gave birth to Zeus six daughters, three of whom are the goddesses of the seasons, and the other three are the goddesses of fate.
Zeus's third wife was his sister Hera, who was saved by him from the womb of their father Kronos. Hera is the patroness of marriage and motherhood.
