Highlights
Hand-made leather sheath for the Cold Steel SRK fixed blade knife. This sheath is made to order, so please expect about two week for me to make it.
This is a simple leather sheath with slits on both sides which allow for versatile carry options with the included straps with buckles. The initial set up is ideal for carrying your knife horizontally behind the back in "scout carry". You can also remove the straps and re-thread them to be oriented for the left side in a cross-draw/appendix carry.
I chose to use the straps with buckles as a suspension method because it is the most versatile, as well as reliable. Buckles allow you to remove the sheath without removing your belt, and they will not wear out or open unintentionally. You can also use the straps to thread through MOLLE webbing or backpack straps for carrying your knife on a pack or bag in various other configurations.
The "thumb-break"retention snap gives you the required security to carry in this fashion, but it is also set up so that you can easily open the snap with you hand positioned on the knife-handle ready to draw it.
The natural leather has been stained and treated with linseed oil, neatsfoot oil, and my homemade birch oil, giving it a beautiful and unique finish.
