I studied Bauhaus architecture and have long been a fan of mid century exhibition posters. I created this Bauhaus print with binary colours; faded black shapes and an aged, off cream background.

- Why Bauhaus?

The Staatliches Bauhaus, commonly known as The Bauhaus, was a German art school operational from 1919 to 1933 that combined crafts and the fine arts.

The Bauhaus movement encapsulated ‘European Modernism’ is the 1920s and proposed the objectification of everyday objects through the mantra of 'form over function'.

This original illustration was hand drawn by me, taking inspiration from mid century modern wall art, 60s surf culture and Bauhaus.


- Giclée Printing Method -

Our giclée prints are made on a 12 colour, full spectrum printer, with pigment based inks and archival paper. This combination gives a vibrant finish that is entirely fade resistant.

Choice of paper is 200 gsm Hahnemühle fine art paper, noted for its smooth finish and trusted by galleries around the world.
