Formal / Bridal Train Skirt With Pockets PDF

This is a pattern & tutorial, with instructions to sew your very own formal skirt with a train and pockets. This project is perfect for your next fantasy, costume, or formal event! It also makes a great bridal / wedding skirt!

This listing is for a Pattern and Sewing Tutorial that includes directions to create a skirt.

This pattern fits approximately a 27” (68.5 cm) waist, and the final length is approximately 43” (109 cm) + 12" train.
The tutorial includes basic notes on how to adjust the size.

This PDF pattern can be printed on both US Letter or A4 paper, as well as A0. There is also a single page file you can use with a projector.

In your download you will receive:
+ Pattern formatted for US Letter paper (66 pages) with 1 in test square
+ Pattern formatted for A4 paper (66 pages) with 3 cm test square
+ Pattern formatted for A0 paper (4 pages) with test squares
+ Single page full size file for use with a projector
+ 13 Page Tutorial Book (with photographic instructions and suggested suppliers)

Materials Needed:
5 ½ yd (or meter) fabric* (54" wide)
5 ½ yd (or meter) each of any overlay fabrics*
9 inch (22 cm) zipper - longer is fine
1 hook and bar set
Sewing machine
Hand sewing needle
Matching thread

*Please note that you may require additional yardage for extra tall skirts.
If you are creating this for someone 5'7” (170 cm) or above, I recommend rounding up to 6 yards / meters.
For 5”11” (180 cm) or taller, I recommend 6 ½ yards / meters.
This pattern was drafted using 54” wide fabric.

You must have Basic to Intermediate knowledge of sewing before trying this project. It is best if you know how to do the following:

A. How to place, pin, and cut patterns out of fabric.
B. How to measure using a tape measure. *
C. Basic sewing using a home sewing machine.
D. How to install a zipper.
E. How to align straight edges for sewing.
F. How to sew a hem.
G. How to attach a hook and bar (hook and eye) closure.
