What is the shelf life of your products?

Store your herbs in clean, airtight containers, away from heat and light, and handle them thoughtfully. Amber glass jars with airtight lids are ideal. You might also keep them in a dark cupboard or drawer in the original packaging, sealed tightly while not in use. The shelf life of herbs will vary according to the form and plant part. Those that have been cut or powdered have more surface area exposed to the air and can lose their flavor more rapidly than whole herbs. Acacia powder is a popular addition to a multitude of products as it acts to bind formulas and stabilize emulsions. Acacia gum is used in a variety of products ranging from ink to ice cream. In herbal medicine, the gum is used to bind pills and lozenges and to stabilize emulsions. It is also used to produce a medium for applying essential oils, balsams, resins, camphor, and musk.
