Easy Knit Prayer Shawl Pattern, Semi Circular Lace Edging (PDF Pattern)

This knitting pattern is for a semi circular knit shawl that fits snug around the shoulders and ties in the front. The yarn used in the first 4 pictures is Noro Taiyo - it takes 2 skeins. The other is made from the same pattern and I used various scraps of yarn leftover from other projects - a great way to use up your leftover yarn!

To knit this pattern you use size 13 needles so it knits up quickly. It takes approximately 460 yard of yarn to complete. The lower edge of the shawl features a lace stitch. To make this shawl you will need to know how to knit, increase in knit stitch, knit 2 together (K2tog), and yarn over (YO). I would classify this as an easy pattern. I have written it so it is very easy to follow so you know what row you have left off on. It is a total of 73 rows including the lace edging.

I designed this shawl for my aunt who lives in MI. This would be a great gift for anyone or just for yourself to have for those chilly nights or air conditioned places. Making the scrap version, last photo, was a lot of fun.
