Can I have a custom length?

For lengths in-between the standard options, please order the next size up and leave us a note in the checkout with the required length you wish the shelf to be cut down too.

Do you keep all sizes in stock?

All of our products are handmade to order to your bespoke requirements.

Do your items come with fixings?

All of our items come with pre-drilled holes, fixings and easy to follow fitting instructions. All of beams come with fixings suitable for solid walls. For our shelves we have listings for both solid walls and plasterboard walls. Please ensure you buy from the correct listing for the appropriate fixings you require. Our solid wall fixings can hold up to 35kg of weight between 2 fixings including the weight of the beam/shelf. Our plasterboard shelf fixings can hold up to 20kg between 2 fixings including the weight of the shelf. The above is just a guide, there are many variables which can affect weight capacity such as shelf depth, weight of shelf, condition of the wall and weight distribution.

Are shelves sold as a pair or just one?

The listing is for one shelf only. For more than one shelf please update the quantity before adding to your basket.

Do you offer samples?

If you are finding it hard to decide on a colour, please feel free to send us a message and we can provide any additional photos. We can also advise the best match to your furniture by sending us a photo. If you are still undecided we can san send you some colour samples.

Can your items be fitted to plasterboard walls?

Our beams come with fixings for solid walls only. If you are trying to fit a beam to a plasterboard wall, please send us a message and we will advise how best to do this. For shelves we have listings for both solid wall options and plasterboard walls options between 9-15mm thick.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland?

Do you offer returns?

We offer returns on all of our products unless personalisation requests have been left in checkout, for example, lengths different to the selections available. Returns are organised and paid for by the customers.

How accurate are your oak beam dimensions.

Oak fireplace beams have a +/- 5mm tolerance.

Planed air dried oak beams. The most affordable oak fireplace beams in our range, perfect for the trade or DIY capable. Industrial woodworking machines are used to plane all four sides of the beam in our North Yorkshire based workshop resulting in a finish ready for sanding and finishing.

Each beam is accurately cut to length with a large cross cut saw ensuring a smooth finish.

Our air dried oak - We make every effort to source the best quality air dried oak beams available to us. Typically 2-3 years air dried making them perfect for internal use.

This listing is for beams 14cm high. Choose the depth and length in the options.

Important, please read: As almost everything we sell is a made to order item, our dispatch time can vary. We’ll work hard to dispatch your order as soon as possible. Please be aware as oak is a natural product, each piece does vary with regards to: cracks, knots, colour and grain pattern.

We work to a tolerance of +/- 5mm. Some beams may have small areas of pin holing which further adds to the reclaimed effect, we will treat these beams with anti infestation solution. All of our oak beams are well air dried ensuring minimal movement once installed in your home. As your beam adjusts to your room temperature further cracks may appear only adding to the character. This is nothing to worry about. Please note that none of the above can be treated as defects. If for some reason you’d like to return your item just post it back to us within 30 days of delivery to receive a refund in full.
