Martingale collars are made with two loops. The big loop looks exactly like a regular collar that is adjustable and goes around the dogs neck. The small loop comes to work when the leash is attached. When your pooch pulls, the collar tightens and will stay snug around your dog's neck without choking the dog. It will also prevent the dog from slipping out of the collar, thus preventing escape.
Martingale collars are helpful for training, they are gentler than any choke collar or even regular buckle collar, they make it hard for your dog to slip free and they are stylish!!

How to measure for the perfect fit:

Measure Dog's Neck:
Using a soft tape, measure around your dog’s neck where their collar naturally sits. Pull the tape until it is snug but not tight. You should be able to comfortably put two fingers between the measuring tape and your dog's neck. Record your measurement.
Measure Dog's Head:
The collar will need to be large enough to fit the neck, but also large enough to fit over the head and ears. Using the same method from step 1, measure the head starting at the throat and going around the head, including the ears.

Record the measurement and use it while determining the correct size collar to order. You will need to find the corresponding size of collar that will fit both the head measurement as well as the neck measurement

All my collars are handmade with:
- Love
- 100% cotton fabric
- Polypro webbing
- Premium welded D-ring
- Solid cast slide (we do not use plastic slides!!)
- Triple stitches to assure durability

Care instructions:
- Hand or machine wash on gently cycle. Put them in a little laundry bag for added safety.
- Lay flat to dry
- Avoid extended use in water or salt water as this may discolor fabric or hardware
- A dog collar is an article of daily use. You should expect eventual wear. Please check your dogs collar for wear and tear frequently and replace when necessary. Andrea's Custom Collars is not responsible for any loss,
