Complete kit to make your own 1/12th scale miniature version in needlepoint of a real oriental carpet. The kit contains a pattern chart with information about the origins of the carpet, colour photo of the finished carpet, fully illustrated instructions, 22-holes-to-the-inch bound canvas, Appleton's crewel wool, cotton for the fringe and a tapestry needle. The finished carpet measures 6½ inches x 4 inches. Not suitable for children. The design is not printed on the canvas.

The original carpet on which this miniature version is based was made after 1930 by nomads living in Kizil Ajak, near the city of Kerki in Central Asia. The main design is made up of simple octagons filled with a ray-shaped spider design in white. A characteristic feature of this type of carpet is the repetition of the spider design in the main border.
