Vintage from the 1970s

A fabulous cast iron gratin dish created by the revered French cookware manufacturer Le Creuset under the Cousances label, and dating from around the 1970s.
It is finished in the brand’s signature orange enamel on the outside, and creamy white enamel on the inside. It is designed to be used from oven to table.
This is the size 28 oval shape, which measures about 28 x 20cms (11 x 8 inches) excluding handles and stands about 5cms (2 inches) tall.
Stamped '28. Cousances. Made in France’ on the base.
Excellent vintage condition.
Le Creuset cookware is prized for its utilitarian good looks and superb heat retention. This is a classic of the French kitchen that is durable and still has years of use left in it.
