Chunky Knotted Long-Tail Newborn Hat Knitting Pattern, PDF #135
This is a knitting pattern for making this adorable newborn hat yourself!
(Think! Who do you know that's a knitter?)
Actually, with all the videos on YouTube, there's no excuse for not learning any more!
Once you have paid, you will receive an email with instructions for downloading your pattern pdf, along with 3 other files:
1) yarn and needle terminology and equivalents
2) how to make your own double-pointed needles
3) newborn photography and digital editing tips
Please note: Instructions are currently given ONLY for the newborn size.
A little later, I will have larger sizes added, and at that point, you will be entitled to a revision, if you contact me about that.
This is written for two different thicknesses of yarn, both loosely spun.
The brown one is made with super bulky yarn and US 17 needles.
The blue one is made with bulky yarn and US 11 needles.
The hand dyed one was also made with bulky yarn. (That exact yarn is discontinued now, sorry.)
You can choose to knit either of these in the round, or back and forth.
The braid is optional. So cute with or without! You'll probably want to make several hats.
The stripes are an innovation by photographer Lesilee DuFresne of Killeen, Texas. You can use this photo as a guide, if you want to make yours striped.
I specialize in clear, thorough instructions, and coaching is included!
I have included the yarn brands that I used, available at US craft and fabric stores and online.
Permission is granted to make hats knitted from this pattern.
Many thanks to test knitter Mandi Yelland of LittleKnitKnacks.com and to photographer Amanda McGhee of Kimberlin Gray Photography.
