Vintage, Japanese, Porcelain, Cobalt blue, Moriage Satsuma Vase with Foo Dog Handles

This unique, Satsuma vase features the classic depiction framed by a shiny, cobalt blue background, instead of the frequently seen matte brown. The double-sided, detailed scenes are textured with moriage . The cobalt glaze has touches of shiny gold trim, including on the double, Foo Dog handles. The bottom of the vase is marked "Made in Japan 2".
There is some wear in the paint, especially in the gold trim and designs. There are some small areas of missing moriage and some dark, age spots noted in the white painted areas. The vase has some ceramic manufacturing defects, such glaze pops and glaze runs, and a few areas where the ceramic has raised lines (pic #7 is an example). The inside of the vase is stained. I see no chips or cracks.
This is a very pretty vase -- it would fit perfectly with a variety of decor.
