Yes these work for little girls and very thin hair. I have put the Curlinator into young girls as young as 2 years old all the way up to elderly women with very thin hair. As long as the hair is long enough to put into a pony tail it will hold the hair if put in properly. If the hair is pretty short and really thin, I do custom make smaller sizes if needed. Does this work in thin, thick, curly or fine hair?

Yes it will work in all hair types. It has a very strong wire to hold thick hair. And the slit through the center allows it to hold any hair type (thick, thin, curly or fine) short or long (as long as you have enough to put into a ponytail). ***Important step: After you pull the hair through the center slit, while holding onto each end of the curlinator, you should remember to twist UNDER ONE time towards your shoulders to 'secure' the hair inside the product. At that point, you slide towards the end of the hair, and start to roll under all the way up until you reach your head, and then pull the ends up towards the top of your head and either fold one end over the other or bring it around behind the bun nice and tight.

Does this work in layered hair

Absolutely, you just have to pull/roll the pieces in as you roll the Curlinator into your hair. How do you curl the hair using the Curlinator?

You can roll it into a bun using completely dry hair or you can just slightly dampen the hair by using a spray bottle to spritz it, or just putting a little water into the palm of your hands and applying to your hair. **You DO NOT want the hair to be wet when you put the Curlinator in if your intention is to curl it! It will not dry and curl that way. How long to do have to leave it in the hair to curl it? If you would like to have body wave curls-an hour or two. If you would like to have tighter spiral curls-wear it all day or overnight.

Will the Curlinator fall out of my hair?

No, it does not fall out of the hair if put in properly. Make sure to give it a twist under IMMEDIATELY AFTER you pull the hair through the slit, THEN SLIDE IT down the hair towards the ends (within a couple of inches of the ends), then roll it UNDER TOWARDS THE SHOULDERS all the way up until you can not roll anymore! That extra roll will make for a more secure hold! And finally bring the ends towards the top of your head and decide if you want to show the fabric or not. You can either fold the ends one over the other to show the fabric, or you can hide it by bringing the ends behind the bun. It holds the hair very securely! Do these work on African-American hair?

Yes They do work in African American hair, and I have some pictures that I can share showing how nice the curls come out. If you have braids, I can make custom larger Curlinators to suit your hair.

To use it: pull your hair back into a pony tail with your hands (no band needed), pull it through the center hole, give it a twist downwards/under towards your shoulders to lock your hair in place, then slide down towards the ends of your hair 3/4 of the way down, and then roll inward/under towards your head all the way back up. Once you have it rolled all the way up & it feels secure against your head, bring the ends of the product up towards the top of your head and twist the ends, or you can fold one over the other to make a bow, you can leave the ends out, or you can hide the material by bringing the ends around/behind the bun. Also, Once removed from your hair, you will need to straighten and reshape the wire into their original shape before using it again.
Wash on gentle cycle or hand wash and allow to sit out to dry!
