10 Pcs Royal Scarlet Sweet Pea Flower Seed-Excellent for Bouquet-Lathyrus Odoratus-FL650-Beautiful Vining plant

The sweet pea is a flowering plant in the genus Lathyrus in the family Fabaceae (legumes), native to Sicily, Cyprus, southern Italy and the Aegean Islands. It is an annual climbing plant, growing to a height of 1–2 metres (3 ft 3 in–6 ft 7 in), where suitable support is available.
Cultivated sweet peas go back at least 300 years. In their native Sicily, these ornamental peas have weak stems and an intense orange-jasmine-honey scent. Modern hybrids are stronger-stalked and have larger blooms.
Sweet Peas are a very colorful vining plant with large fragrant blooms, and they grow so easily from flower seeds. The plant has long stems so it makes an excellent cut flower, and is a wonderful addition to any flower garden.
With their seductive fragrance, sweet peas make great flowers for gardens and bouquets. These pea-like flowering annuals grow in many lovely colors and are suitable for a border, a woodland garden, and a trellis or arch. See how to plant and grow sweet peas. Early sowing is one of the secrets to sweet peas!

Royal Sweet Pea vines need full sun and rich, well-drained soil. They do best if the seed is sown in the area they will grow. During the growing season, use nitrogen fertilizer sparingly because too much will cause lots of plant growth and fewer flowers. When the plants are 3 - 6 inches tall, pinch the tops to encourage side shoots. Water regularly, especially in high heat to keep the flowers cool, and dead head the spent flowers to keep the plant blooming.

For best germination, Sweet Pea flower seeds need to be scarified before sowing. Nick the seed with a nail clipper breaks the outer coat and then soak overnight in warm water. Sow scented Lathyrus seeds directly outdoors.
