Very Rare and very collectible 1729 23k gold Dutch Ducat pendant off the Sunken Merchant ship VLIEGENTHART. This ship was bound for the East Indies when on February 3rd 1735 it sank with the loss of all hands off the coast of Zeeland. Her cargo included coins of gold and silver which was to be used for trading in the East Indies. The coin includes all documentation. The condition is very fine and the coin is 292 years old and was underwater for 250 of them.
The chain is 14k gold and 22 inches in length it is of a herring bone style it weighs 16.54 grams and is 3 mm wide.
Both these items are in my personal collection they were purchase in 1983 in the Grand Cayman Islands.
