Highlights
Back in season now, this listing is for our Allspice (Pimenta dioica) SEEDS. We collect these seeds from our 30+ year old Allspice tree growing in our Haiku, Maui garden.
*******PLEASE NOTE THAT ALLSPICE (Pimenta dioica) is a very slow growing spice tree.****** Allspice is very suitable for growing in a container or for smaller home gardens. Your freshly collected and cleaned Allspice SEEDS will arrive wet packed. We suggest germinating these seeds indoors in the baggie that they arrive in. Keep 75-85 degrees at all times. These are very easy to grow container suitable trees, but they are very slow growing.
GERMINATION INFORMATION:
*****Please label and date your seeds. Your wet packed Allspice seeds will appear to 'plump' up after about 2 weeks in the damp baggie that they will arrive in (they look like tiny cloves). After that point they will appear to do nothing, will appear to 'go dormant' even. Plant the seeds in containers of good potting soil (again, please make sure to label and date the containers).
In about 4 to 6+ MONTHS you will have tiny Allspice seedling trees appear above the soil surface, about 1-2" high. Again, they are very slow growing Spice tree so please be patient when growing it from a seed.

The aromatic leaves of an Allspice tree are used in cooking, the same as Bay leaves. All parts of this delightful tree are edible, including the berries produced. The berries can be dried and crushed or used whole in cooking recipes. For the true Allspice Lover, The fresh berries can also be frozen and eaten whole, the same way as blueberries.
