Vintage from the 1950s

This is a lovely handmade silver woman’s belt with a nice patina. It would fit a woman or girl. The belt is versatile because it fits varying waist sizes. The belt is made entirely of silver.

Both ends of the belt have two hooks for fitting the belt securely on the waist. The hooks can be attached to any link in the 35-inch belt. If one’s waist size increases, the belt will still fit because different links can be used! Each vertical, rectangular link has a place for the four hooks to attach from each end of the belt. There are 58 rectangular links.

The front portion (with belt hooks for the closure), features a three-part center panel, with two side-ways oriented hearts, on either side of the center panel, with a horse image. The surface of the 3-part hinged closure is embossed with lovely detail. The belt has a handsome silver patina which can be highly polished if desired.

Each vertical, rectangular link in the belt has four rings into which the silver “hooks” can attach, for perfect fit on the waist.

The underside of the belt has a raised silver signature plaque with language characters unknown to us – likely the maker’s name and silver mark. (The language on the plaque may be Persian, Greek or Turkish.)

The handmade belt is all silver. The belt is in excellent condition, with no missing parts.
