Cancellations, Refunds & Custom Orders

I custom make most of my items to order, except those items bought from my ‘Ready Made’ section. Order cancellations of custom items are possible if the custom item has not yet been made. Therefore please make any requests to cancel as close to ordering as possible and at least within 48hours from ordering. Once your items have been made, I’m afraid your order cannot be cancelled since I will have already used my resources and time in carefully crafting your items for you. Please contact me before returning any item. Most items are custom made to order and cannot be cancelled once made and sent. To cancel your order please see FAQs on Cancellations. If a return has been agreed, any return postage will be your responsibility unless your item has arrived faulty or incorrect (please photograph if damaged). If able to, I will be happy to replace any item for an alternative, apart from a few exclusions: • items that have been personalised (eg with custom date/message) • those bespokely made to your requirements (eg a finish not offered as standard). Shells differ in shape,size,colouration, texture & how they rest. Each is uniquely different so please do ask to see options before buying if you should wish.

Returned to Sender Items

Occasionally items are returned to me by the postal services due to non-collection by the recipient or incorrect/incomplete address details provided at checkout. Items made to order are non-refundable once made, so please check your details carefully. If your item gets returned, I will message to ask where and how you would like your parcel resent. I will be happy to re-box and prepare your items to re-send in the post to your address or an alternative address you provide. Once you have said where you wish your items resent to, I will setup a custom listing for you to make payment for the cost of redelivery by whichever service you choose. As soon as payment for redelivery has been made, I will repost your items and confirm once done.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you have received a faulty or incorrect item, then this is my mistake and I will be happy to reimburse for any return postage costs. If you think you have received the wrong size, please let me know:) To clarify sizings: Shells are all naturally unique, however typical sizings are as follows:- Oyster Shell Trinket Dish Sizings (length): •Mini Oyster Shells are 5-7cm •Small Ring Boxes are 7-8cm •Medium oyster dishes are 8-9cm •S/M oyster dishes are 7-9cm •Standard dishes uses large oyster shells between 9-11cm •XL uses very large oyster shells 11-14cm •XXL uses very rare giant oyster shells between 14-18+cm. Scallop Shell sizings (width): •Standard 10-11cm •XL 12-14cm •XXL 15-17cm Spiny Cockle Mini Ring Dishes: •Measure 5-6cm wide

For delivery, I charge the cost of postage as paid at the post office. If there is an occasion when the calculated charges at Etsy checkout are more than the cost of shipping your order, then I will arrange to refund any postal overages to you via Etsy. The Etsy system calculates shipping on a ‘number of items ordered’ basis which is tricky since weight can vary considerably for the different items/options I sell for any one listing e.g. a standard size trinket dish might weigh 150g but an XXL size in the same style might weigh over 500g. Any questions or queries on delivery charges please just drop me a message and I’ll be happy to help. Some bulk listings detail postage will be charged separately once quantity/shipping choice confirmed.

Shipping & Import Charges

If you are based overseas, please note that there may be duty required to be paid upon receiving items, as is the case with buying anything from overseas. If there should be any fees or taxes due, it is the responsibility of the recipient (buyer) to pay for these fees. All purchases marked as ‘a gift’ when purchasing will be declared as such on the customs form. EU Customers: From 1st July 2021 there are changes to EU VAT rules regarding imports. All items bought that are under £135 will have VAT charged on them at checkout by Etsy at the rate due for your country. However, purchases that are of a higher value (over £135) will require VAT to be paid UPON RECEIPT in your country at the relevant rate due.

International Deliveries

The Standard Delivery option at checkout is sent via Royal Mail International Airmail services which is tracked but not signature tracked. Once dispatched, your parcel gets passed over to Royal Mail and their international mail partners in your destination country for delivery. Alternatively if you would like a quicker, tracked signed for service or would like to request delivery by a particular courier or carrier, please get in touch so I can find out a delivery price for your destination since this will cost more than the Standard delivery option. Delivery of replacement items

Unfortunately, very occasionally, items do get lost or damaged in the post. Should any item be lost or damaged in the post and a replacement item is required to be sent, this replacement item shall be sent via the same method of delivery as chosen at checkout for your order. If a different or upgraded delivery method is preferred for the replacement item, then the difference between what was paid for delivery in your order and the cost of the upgraded delivery service will be charged.

Lead times & delivery for Large scale & Bulk orders

Bulk Order Leadtime: Hand making bulk orders will take longer than my usual processing times, particularly at busy times of the year, please see FAQ on Current Dispatch Times. If you have a date in mind for receipt, please let me know as soon as possible so we can discuss what may be possible. Delivery costs for bulk orders will vary considerably dependent upon quantity ordered, shipping destination/speed required and as such listings invariably detail the cost of bulk goods NOT inclusive of delivery. Delivery will be charged separately once your bulk order is made up and ready to be dispatched. Once delivery has been paid for your order will be sent. Please contact for estimated shipping costs before ordering bulk purchase items. xx

These natural scallop shell trinket dishes have been carefully gilded by hand to create a beautiful and unique place to keep your rings, earrings and other precious pieces of jewellery.

These natural shell jewellery dishes have been gloss lacquered and edged in liquid gold leaf and are available with the reverse either adorned completely in gold or left mostly natural (please see photos that show examples).

Each shell is unique, just as nature intended, and make great best friends gifts this Christmas, wedding anniversary gifts or simply for you to use and enjoy at home as a beautiful addition to your vanity or bedside table or as a touch of nautical decor.

Sizing & Colouration:
These mini scallop shells, which measure approximately 5-7cm at their widest.

If you would like a larger scallop shell trinket dish, I also sell these in Standard size (10-11cm width) and XL size (12-14cm width) in my other listings.

Internal and external colourations do vary from shell to shell. Colourations can be white, cream, yellowy, pink, through to deep red or brown. If you have a particular preference or would like to see a selection of current pieces to choose from please let me know xx

Directions for care:
Seashells are naturally delicate so please handle your trinket dish with care. Our trinket dishes are not designed to be submerged in water. However, should you need to, the sealer used as a finish on these shells does allow them to be gently rinsed under running water and left to air dry.

A note on creation:
Each shell trinket dish is individually hand crafted and is a one of a kind creation, not manufactured in a factory. As a result, each shell trinket dish will have subtle variations from one item to the next, which is caused by natural variations in the shape, colouration and size of the sea shells used, as well as a result of the hand gilding method.

Given the unique nature of the items being sold, the description, photos and measurements listed have been used to portray, in general, the items for sale. However, if more specific information is required on individual pieces for sale or you have any questions, please do get in touch.

All shells used in our listed items are natural and have been sourced locally from within the UK, many from within the Home Counties. Our scallop shells are sourced from around the UK, whilst our spiny cockle shells have been collected from Kent beaches and our Oyster shells largely from Essex and Suffolk.

I am now back from holiday and working hard to make and dispatch the orders I’ve received whilst I was away.

Whilst I’m catching up, new orders will have a slightly longer than usual lead time of 2-3 weeks to dispatch.

If you should need an item sooner than the estimated delivery date at checkout, please contact me to see if it is possible to schedule an earlier make and dispatch time and I will do my very best to accommodate requests.

A Note on Dispatch & Delivery:
Once your item has been dispatched I pass over the delivery of your items to the lovely people at Royal Mail. (Thank you!)

UK:
Standard delivery is sent via Second Class post, which Royal Mail advise generally takes 2-3 working days after dispatch to arrive.

For quicker delivery, you can select First Class as an option, which Royal Mail state they aim to deliver the next day after posting.

Overseas:
Packages are sent via Royal Mail International Standard (Airmail), with the postal system advising items take the following number of working days after dispatch to arrive:

-Europe 3-5 working days
-USA 6-7 working days

However, please allow a few more days for items to arrive given international delays due to the current pandemic.

Waiting for delivery:
Occasionally there are delays in the postal system that are unfortunately beyond my control, such as when there is bad weather, busy periods or other events that impact Royal Mail’s expected transit times and that of their overseas counterparts (Christmas, Covid..).

If you have any concerns over when you might receive something by, please do drop me a message before buying and I’ll do my best to help if I can. It may be that I’m able to send out an item that same day or I can find out how much it might be to send via Special Delivery or a Courier to you. If I’m able to, I’ll try to help in anyway that I can xx
