The Grayson cardigan is an easy crochet sweater, jacket or coat and perfect for baby, toddlers, boys and girls. It was crocheted using #4 weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Heartland Tweed #4 (278g/ 493yd/ 451m) in the color Mount Rainier for the 1-2 year size. You can also use any yarn with similar weight like Aran or 10-ply and it can be made smaller or bigger from 3-6M and up to 5-6 years. See sizes below.

All my patterns are written in a basic format for one main size (as listed in the description). This is the only format offered. You can make the item smaller or larger by simply changing yarn weight and or hook size and using the same pattern instructions. This is the only guidance I provide for resizing. With this technique, this kids cardigan can be made from 3-6M and up to 5-6 years. This technique works well because standard size differences between ages increase gradually—typically about 1 inch (2.5 cm) for smaller sizes and more for larger sizes. By adjusting your hook size, you can achieve a proportional difference throughout the garment. Keep in mind that individual tension varies, which may affect the final size. Gauge is provided for the main size only. If you’re using a different yarn or hook size, I recommend checking your gauge to help ensure the finished size turns out as expected.
