About Reflective Vinyl

We use Genuine 3M Scotchlite Reflective Vinyl for our reflective decals. They are weatherproof and waterproof, and rated for 5-7 years of outdoor use. They can be applied to any smooth hard surface from your bicycle helmet, to your boat. Reflective vinyl works by bouncing light off of microscopic glass beads that are embedded inside the vinyl, reflecting the light back to the the original source. In daylight, the colors look like normal vinyl decals. But under headlights or flashlights the decals will look like they are lit up from within! Since reflective decals do not need electricity, they can add safety details to your gear without complex wiring, or adding a drain to your battery.

Application Instructions

Easy to Apply to any Smooth Hard Surface 1 Thoroughly CLEAN and dry the application area. Remove all dirt, oil or wax. 2 Slowly PEEL off the Backing Paper. Make sure the decal stays adhered to the transparent Transfer Tape. 3 Carefully POSITION the decal onto the desired area. Once it sticks, it will be nearly impossible to reposition. 4 RUB the decal from the center out, making sure the entire decal is fully adhered to the surface. Work any air bubbles to the edge of the decal. If a bubble is stuck, a tiny pin hole will allow the air out. 5 Slowly REMOVE the transfer tape. Make sure no part of the decal remains on the transfer tape.

Heat gently with hair dryer until decal peels up easily. Adhesive residue can be removed with Goo Gone™

What will decals stick to?

Our decals will stick to any smooth hard surface like plastic, metal, or glass. Wood, rocks, or other non-smooth surfaces will need to be sealed with something like gloss latex paint or epoxy to create a smooth hard surface. If freshly painted or epoxied, please allow a week for the solvents to thoroughly evaporate before applying decals. Our decals will not stick to fabric or leather. They will not stick to indoor walls with non-gloss paint surfaces.
