The shorter necklace comes with a one inch chain extender, the long charm necklace does not (unless you've personally reached out to me requesting that). The charm hangs by a piece of 1 inch chain, (please keep in mind as you choose the length).

I love this set so much, however the clasp on the smaller necklace broke, and I lost it within a week of having it. Thankfully the longer heart necklace did not get lost and seems to be working well. It was unfortunate about the shorter layering piece.
