This is a bentwood ring using cocobolo which can have colours ranging from orange to purple depending on the piece of wood. This listing is for a similar ring made to your size and specifications.

All of my rings are hand made. Once I receive your order it will take 1 to 2 weeks to produce your ring and ship it. When you order please indicate in your message to the seller the size and width you would like. I can make any size from 3 to 16 and any width from 4mm to 12mm. Wood rings can not be resized so please make sure to get the right size. All of the wood I use is natural and no stains or dyes are utilized to get the colouring you see unless specified in the listing. I have several different types of wood on hand and access to a lot more so if you would like different types of wood to give different effects please send me a message through Etsy and we can discuss your ideas to come up with something that will suit you. Also please remember that wood is natural so each piece will look slightly different and no 2 rings will ever be exactly the same.

There are 2 general ways for making rings and they are lamination and bentwood. Lamination is a stack of different woods glued together alternating the wood grain for additional strength. Bentwood involves bending thin laminations of wood around the circumference of the ring which creates a stronger ring and shows off the face grain of the wood better. Lamination is more economical because it is easier to do and is recommended for occasional use. Bentwood is stronger and better suited for daily wearing but is more difficult to make.

I have done extensive testing on my rings. All of them have a very durable, waterproof, and glossy finish to them. Even though the rings are fairly durable they are wood and will not stand up to the same abuse metal rings will. If you will be doing any activities that may damage your ring such as heavy lifting or handling items that are sharp and rough such as metal or stone I suggest you remove it before doing so. Even though the finish is waterproof I also suggest that if you will have your hands in water for extended periods such as bathing, washing dishes, or swimming that you remove it before doing so. By following these simple recommendations your ring will continue to look new and last a long time.
