This quintessential prairie wildflower provides ample resources for many pollinators. The dry seeds have a pleasant lemon aroma and are frequently foraged by bird life. Ratibida pinnata is a successful self-seeder and can grow in a wide range of sun and soil conditions, though full sun and drier conditions are ideal.

Seed packet contains 250 seeds
Seeds require 30-45 days of cold moist stratification to germinate. This can be achieved by sowing seed outdoors in late-fall, or by folding seed into a moist paper towel, before sealing in a sandwich bag and placing in the refrigerator. This species is generally pretty easy to grow from seed, though soil temperature above 75-80ºF are needed for germination.
