~~~ABOUT MY HARDTACK~~~

Hardtack is also known as pilot bread, sailor biscuits, tooth duller, sheet iron crackers, etc. This is the authentic recipe used by pioneers, settlers, soldiers and sailors. No preservatives, nothing fancy, made just as it was originally! The only 3 ingredients are flour, salt and water. Handmade by me, so you know exactly what you're getting!

Hardtack becomes VERY dry after baking, which helps it last for many, many years. All orders are VACUUM SEALED in packs of 6 for your convenience. The vacuum seal also helps ensure that your hardtack will last a LONG time. It can last indefinitely if stored in a cool, dry place!

Hardtack is great for prepping, stockpiling, and reenactments!


~~~HOW TO EAT HARDTACK~~~

Hardtack must be soaked in liquid for at least 10 minutes before eating. Soldiers often broke it into pieces with the butt of their rifles and softened it in coffee, water or soup. Please soften it before eating to protect your teeth!

All orders are shipped FREE via USPS priority mail. Please remember that the hardtack may crack during shipping because it's so dry, despite my best efforts to protect them with bubble wrap. They are still edible if cracked or broken!
