Vintage Boulle Clock, Wooden Table Clock, Brass Table Clock, Rococo Clock, Pendulum Clock, Mantle Clock, Franz Hermle, Louis XV, Home Decor
🖋️ Here we present to you a frankly breathtaking piece of our "Art & Decor" family and more specifically a vintage Boulle style table clock, back from the 75's-90's. The case is completely handmade of natural marquetry wood, by the legendary "Le Ore" brand (who specializes in treating and arranging the most precious materials in the world and its works retain all the exceptional cultural inheritance of the Italian marquetry as well as it is known to decorate the most beautiful buildings and houses in the world, environments intended for high-level meetings and private rooms where everything refers to the artistic sensitivity) in a gorgeous Louis XV (Rococo) style, featuring some amazing marquetry wooden flower bouquet embellishments (in a very discreet thus elegant natural wooden color palette) inside a fish bone marquetry wooden background, while at the same time it is decorated with some spectacular gold plated solid brass embellishments all around its dimensions (featuring some splendid lilies flower and branches details) and in combination with its remarkable fully embossed brass faceplate (consisted of hand embossed flowers and a noble man's portraiture in the center) decorated with white porcelain Latin numerals and black perforated black indicators, it results to an unparalleled showstopper for every room and most certainly for every occasion. Besides its superb appearance this unique table clock also has a wooden black door on the back which bears a perforated marking "Le Ore" in order to protect the mechanism and a front glass door (with gold plated brass contour) in order to protect the beautiful gold pendulum as well as the brass and porcelain face plate which bears the marking "Made in Italy". So without further ado, the attention to detail pattern is all over the place, as the colors, the texture and the whole craftsmanship of this piece are absolutely stunning and it will immediately seduce in every possible way, as it looks like it came straight out of some royal fairytale. Do not let it fool by its exceptional looks because this piece is quite heavy (approximately 6kg) due its premium quality high end composition. Unfortunately such pieces cannot be properly described in just a few lines. Their impeccable beauty along with their exceptional artistry are absolutely priceless.
The perfect addition for every surface and most definitely every home and office, that will instantly upgrade the aesthetic of the entire room, by providing a genuine royal aura to the whole atmosphere.
In any case, one photo is worth one thousand words, so please take a moment to see from a closer look, its outstanding beauty!
We must not forget to mention that this wonderful piece is fully functional and it works with a regular AA quartz mechanism which is made in Germany by HMS Franz Hermle as it is visible in the photo no:5,6.
Made in Italy approximately from 1975 to 1990's.
Its condition remains excellent exactly as it is visible in the photos above.
Ideal for home or office use and decoration.
In case you were looking for a truly unique addition for your collection, you just found the absolute masterpiece!
The perfect gift either for you or your beloved ones!

- Today we take knowing the time and the day of the year for granted but for our ancestors it was far more difficult. Until mechanical clocks were invented in the 13th century there were various ways of telling the time. The earliest method of telling the time of day was the sundial. It is not known when the sundial was invented but they were certainly used in Ancient Egypt and Ancient Iraq. They are also mentioned in the Old Testament. About 1400 BC the Egyptians invented the water clock. It consisted of two containers of water, one of which was higher than the other. Water flowed along a tube from the higher container to the lower at a steady rate. Rings were marked on the inside of the lower container and when the water level reached one it meant another hour had passed.
The Saxons used a candle clock. A candle was divided into segments and it took an hour for each segment to burn.
The mechanical clock was invented in the Middle Ages. Who made the first one and when is not known but it was around the end of the 13th century. In 1309 a clock is recorded in a church in Italy. The oldest working clock in the world is in Salisbury Cathedral. It dates from 1386 and it has no dial. Instead it chimes the hours. (Our word clock comes from the Latin word for bell 'clocca').
Early clocks were normally in churches and they were very heavy because they were worked by weights. However about 1450 the coiled spring was invented and it made possible portable clocks. The first watches were made in 1510. In the 16th century some rich people had clocks in their homes but they were very expensive.
Early clocks were not very accurate but in 1657 Christiaan Huygens introduced the pendulum. Clocks became far more accurate though they were still set using sundials.
