I used 222g of Cygnet Kiddies Supersoft DK Yarn (DK weight, #3, 8-ply), but you can substitute it with any similar-weight yarn. This pattern can be easily adjusted for smaller or larger sizes (from 0-3 months to 5-6 years) by changing the hook size and yarn weight. See below.

*You can easily adjust the size of this baby sweater, from 0-3M up to 5-6 years, by using a larger or smaller hook size. This technique works well because standard size differences between ages increase gradually—typically about 1 inch (2.5 cm) for smaller sizes and more for larger sizes. By adjusting your hook size and yarn weight, you can achieve a proportional difference throughout the garment. Keep in mind that individual tension varies, which may affect the final size. An approximate gauge is included in the pattern and the finished measurements for the 12-18M size is available at the end of the tutorial.
