CARE INSTRUCTIONS All metals will darken naturally over time (a process called “oxidation”) and develop what is known as a patina. This is nothing to worry about, and some people prefer their jewellery with this more aged appearance, however, if you wish to remove some of this patina, rub your jewellery with the included polishing cloth. Please take good care when polishing wire-wrapped jewellery, go slowly and carefully on the woven sections so as to avoid loosening or damaging any weaves. Keep it free of substances such as perfumes, creams, water etc. Do not wear it when doing vigorous activity. Store it in a dry place when not in use.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All handmade jewellery from Moody Loch comes in a brown kraft paper envelope with a free jewellery polishing cloth. It is posted in a large letter sized cardboard box.

What is silver-filled copper wire?

Moody Loch sources 10% sterling silver-filled copper wire from the Scientific Wire Company. This wire has a higher silver content and more durability than silver-plated wire and can be oxidised the same way as sterling silver.

Oxidation is the natural process which darkens metals. This can happen naturally over time or it can be induced and adjusted by the jewellery maker. Jewellery from Moody Loch is oxidised safely with Liver of Sulphur. The pieces are then neutralised in baking soda, washed, dried and progressively hand-polished.

DESCRIPTION
A skinny swirl design ring, handcrafted from 10% sterling silver-filled copper, hammered and oxidised to accentuate the texture. The band and swirl are roughly 1mm wide (please see photo with ruler). The ring is open at the swirl and can therefore be adjusted to wear on any finger (stretch gently to widen, squeeze gently around finger to narrow), it is also reversible and can be worn with the swirl at the front, or the band at the front. Please expect very slight variations from the photographs, these rings are handmade to order.

Packaging
Moody Loch jewellery arrives like a gift - on a kraft display card, inside a kraft paper envelope - both recyclable. It is then placed in a sturdy cardboard box for posting.
